Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
The great pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar — the spiritual axis of four faiths.
Journey at a glance
About this journey
Mount Kailash is holy to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bön alike — the mythic centre of the world. This journey takes you across the vast Tibetan plateau to its foot, and around it on the three-day kora, the pilgrimage circuit that devotees believe cleanses the sins of a lifetime.
En route you camp beside the turquoise Lake Mansarovar, the highest freshwater lake of its size on earth, and cross the 5,630 m Dolma La — the physical and spiritual high point of the route.
This is a serious high-altitude journey through remote country. We build in careful acclimatisation, carry oxygen and a comprehensive medical kit, and travel with experienced Tibet specialists.
