About this journey
For many, the Tibet side of Everest is the more spectacular — you drive almost to its foot and stand before the sheer, unbroken north face rising more than 3,000 m above you.
The journey crosses the plateau via Shigatse and Tingri, over high prayer-flag passes, to Rongbuk monastery and the base-camp viewpoint. Sunset and sunrise on the face, and the night sky at altitude, are unforgettable.
It's a comfortable overland tour — no extended walking required to reach the viewpoint — with acclimatisation built in and all Tibet logistics handled.
