Druk Path Trek
Best of Bhutan

Paro → Thimphu · High lakes

Druk Path Trek

The classic ridge walk between Bhutan's two great valleys — alpine lakes, blue-pine forest and dzongs at either end.

Western Bhutan 8 Days Mar–May & Sep–Nov

The journey

What makes it unforgettable.

The Druk Path is Bhutan's most-loved short trek — a high, dry ridge route linking Paro and Thimphu over just a handful of unhurried days. You climb quickly out of the Paro valley into ancient blue-pine and rhododendron forest, then follow a chain of clear alpine lakes trout-rich and rimmed by prayer flags.

On clear mornings the eastern Himalaya line the horizon, Gangkhar Puensum — the world's highest unclimbed peak — among them. Nights are spent in comfortable full-service camp, with our crew, kitchen and a warm mess tent carried and set up for you.

It bookends beautifully with Bhutan's icons: the cliff-clinging Tiger's Nest monastery above Paro before you set off, and the fortress-monastery of Thimphu when you descend.
